ProjetCoeurDeVille (c) Thomas &amp; Piron <\/p>\n\n<p>In addition to increasing the surface area of the complex (from 650m\u00b2 to 850m\u00b2), the museum will be equipped with :<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a new exhibition and scenography,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>adapted spaces for the conservation of its collections,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an educational area,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a new library and archive center,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an elevator for people with reduced mobility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>These developments will take place as part of the overall redevelopment of the Quartier des Casernes. The project will involve the construction and development of a large number of housing units, a large public space in the form of a park, a public library, a brasserie, a local shop (short-circuit market), areas for trades related to the courthouse and a parking lot. <\/p>\n\n<p>MusAfrica will need five years to complete the major renewal project. During this period, temporary exhibitions will be organized outside the walls. The next ones are: &#8220;Le Congo mis en case&#8221; (2020), &#8220;Africa-brassage&#8221; (2021), &#8220;Photographes et peintres entre-deux-guerres en Afrique Centrale&#8221; (2022), etc.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The museum will also continue its activities in the areas of acquisition (objects, books, archives, etc.), conservation, research and mediation.<\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.musafrica.net\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"www.musafrica.net\">www.musafrica.net<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On October 8, 2019, MusAfrica closed its doors ahead of work to expand and restore the museum.
