September 19, 2024
As they do every year, this Thursday, September 19, the Belgian and Congolese patriotic associations CRAOCA (Cercle Royal des Anciens Officiers des Campagnes d’Afrique) and URFRACOL (Union Royale des Fraternelles Coloniales) will be commemorating the fact that Belgian and Congolese troops defeated the Germans almost a hundred years ago during the First World War in Africa. The aim is to keep alive the grateful memory of the valiant combatants who, together, wrote a brilliant page of shared Belgo-Congolese history.
The ceremony, enhanced by the presence of standard-bearers from the Royal Military School, will take place at 11.00 h at the Monument de la Force Publique, Square de Riga in Schaerbeek.
This year too, URBA-KBAU will be joining the ceremony.
